Not much to go on. Is it a TO220 package?, TO247?, TO3?
Any other markings, date codes?
In most TVs ( at least CRT-based TVs), the largest three-legged animal is usually the horizontal output transistor, and usually is a bipolar.
My 1998 ST catalog does not have it.
