Some remarks:
1. Most likely it is a thermo weak resin. So warming it up will 
remove the utmost hardness. Use a temperature controled kitchen oven, 
monitor the temperature with a separate thermometer (don't rely 
totally on the controller) and keep the temperature under that which 
the components can endure. Now you can use a knife to remove resin.
2. There is a tool which was formerly in this discussion panel: high 
speed small dril machines like Dremel, which can be used for mini 
fraises. It will take a lot of time but you can remove most of the 
resin this way.
3. Take care of the components when using agressive liquids.
4. To refill after repair (sometimes this is neccessary because of 
humidity) you can use clear melt glue sticks and a paint stripper to 
apply the glue as a potting medium.
