Hardware interrupts in the standard PC used to
be numbered IRQ 0 .. IRQ 15, so what are IRQ 16
and 17?

Is there an extra interrupt controller
(chip: i8259) on the PCI-card? Which is
unlikely...

PS. It's indeed my understanding too that you
shouldn't mix HD's and CD/DVD-drives on the same
IDE-bus.
