NEVER EVER think like this, some designers (with the economist holding them a gun at the head) will save the last percent of a cent if possible. Just had my car broken, 500 EUR damage due to corrosion on an aluminum cap holding the dryer-capsule in the aircondition condenser, could have been avoided fully with a spoon full of grease on top of this cap (or an anodised cap...) cost cutting is -most regrettable- always an argument today..
