Copying my ‘chirp_imgs’ folder (directory) into my /home directory did the 
trick.   Thank you Jeff.
Unfortunately, it means that I’ll have to do a little more file maintenance and 
manually copy changes to/from my dropbox account.   
Dropbox is how I’ve been keeping the image files available from both desktop & 
laptop.
