David, First install the driver that is on the Miklor site. https://www.miklor.com/COM/UV_Drivers.php#install Then follow the instructions on the miklor site /*Installing the Backdated Prolific PL-2303 Driver 3.2.0.0
*/That should work for you on Windows 10. i just did it on mine./*
*/One more thing...Do you have Administrator privileges on your computer? Gonna need that.

I recently tried to roll back the driver for a Prolific cable, but couldn't get my
version of Windows 10 to allow this. The tab for "roll back driver" is grayed
out. I tried to use the update driver, which I had downloaded the correct driver from
Miklor, to load in. It kept saying that I had the best driver. Is there a workaround
for this, now? I finally found my FTDI cable, and then didn't have any problems. But, I
do have a couple of Prolific cables (no doubt fake), so, I would like to be able to use
them. Thanks, if anyone has a solution.
Follow the instructions here:https://www.miklor.com/COM/UV_Drivers.php#install

This is what I have been using since 2012. The same basic concept
works for Windows XP (driver v2.0.2.1) and Windows 7 through Windows
11 (driver v3.2.0.0) when your programming cable identifies itself as
having a Prolific PL2303XA chip. The latest Prolific driver available
works for the newer Prolific PL2303TA chips.
