Issue 1372: URL bar does not revert (minor UI issue)
http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=1372
Comment #3 by [EMAIL PROTECTED]:
This is not a security bug. I know we've discussed this in the past, I'm
assigning
this to Peter who is most familiar with the omnibox behavior and what
issues we ran
across that led us to the current behavior. He can at least provide some
details on
why this behavior was chosen. (the phishing excuse seems a bit weak to me,
and I'm
usually the one who's paranoid about such things... I just don't by "I
typed in a URL
but never told the browser to actually navigate, and now I think I'm
actually on that
URL even though I didn't do anything and the throbber didn't indicate page
loading or
anything. I can see plenty of uses for not clearing the URL, e.g. I start
typing a
URL but need to cut and paste something from the current page, or give
focus to a
different window for a second, etc...)
