For all ultramon users: turn off extended taskbar and try it then. this has  
solved
the problem for me. The browser now maximises adequately on both monitors  
(1440x900 +
1024x768).

i think [EMAIL PROTECTED] (comm 25) has a point. my issue  
seems to be
with the extended taskbar facility of UltraMon whereas his issue can't be  
due to that
feature unless he has a similar program.

Any other programs running which cause the maximisable desktop area to  
change
(Windows sidebar + "always on top")?
