Issue 2112: Chrome does not show any Update status in About box under Vista

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Install Google Chrome on Vista x64.
2. Click on the Tools menu icon, then About Google Chrome.
3. It displays the current version information but it does not display
whether it is up to date, or if a new version is available.
What is the expected result?
It should display the green check mark and "Google Chrome is up to date" at
the bottom.
What happens instead?
It does not display anything at the bottom where this update message should
be.
Please provide any additional information below. Attach a screenshot if
possible.
