Here is another test-case:
   http://desktop.nostdal.org/~lnostdal/test2.html

..and the code for it:


<html>
   <head>
   </head>

   <body>
     <button onclick="window.location.replace('#' + new Date().getTime());">
       clicking me should not add a history entry
     </button>
   </body>
</html>


..works as expected (does not add history entry) under FF and IE.
