Issue 2641: cannot 'save as ...' as a .txt file
http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=2641
Comment #2 by bksening:
To update this: Safari 3 - FAIL; Chrome - FAIL
Firefox 3 - OK; IE 7 - OK
No, using "Web Page HTML Only" with a ".txt" extension from Chrome does NOT
work.
Firefox and IE have another Save As type which is listed specifically as
Text File.
The saved contents of such a filetype removes/strips out
most(Firefox)/all(IE) of the
HTML tags.
The above method (for Safari and Chrome) just saves the exact HTML source
of the
original webpage, albeit with a changed extension of ".txt".
I don't think this solves the original problem as submitted.
