See internal bug 1179001:

Try on Chinese Vista or install attached Chinese font "STCaiyun" (OS  
restart is
required) and set Sans-Serif font to "STCaiyun", then go the
http://www.googlechinablog.com/, you will see the font is partially applied  
to the page.

Not reproduce on Firefox and IE7, on Safari, it is even worse than Chrome,  
after I
customized the "Standard Font" to "STCaiyun" in Safari, it was not applied  
to the
page at all.

Also happened on other pages, such as www.dict.cn
