Issue 150: Type-ahead-find http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=150
Comment #9 by anders.widebrant: I assume this was left out because GMail has built-in keyboard shortcuts which clash with Firefox's type-ahead-find. You might note that (from memory) GMail leaves those disabled by default, presumably because JS key bindings are far more confusing to the user than browser shortcuts that remain constant across sites. As it stands, Chrome's regular find feature lacks the crucial functionality that makes type-ahead-find so powerful -- focusing the link in which the search term was found so that following it is just an "enter" away. At the very least, this needs to be added. If there's a motivated fear of confusing users, the solution is to PROMOTE type-ahead-find as a key feature, because it can significantly improve browsing experience. -- You received this message because you are listed in the owner or CC fields of this issue, or because you starred this issue.
