Issue 3131: Update fails (dev channel)

Product Version : 0.2.153.1
About... keeps telling me a new version is available.
Clicking on "update now" brings a lagging "update in progress..." message
What is the expected result?
Chrome should download and install its update
What happens instead?
After a while, it stops lagging, telling that the update server is
unavailable.
Please provide any additional information below. Attach a screenshot if
possible.
Windows XP SP3, no network proxies.
