To improve compatibility, Chrome should support what IE and Firefox currently support (i.e., refresh content without the ';'). 'Discus!' forum software is used widely in Chinese BBS sites, which are effected by this bug. I just tried IE8beta2, and saw the refresh. I guess you might have looked at the source of page after the refresh which has no refresh.
