Issue 3281: On Windows, Safari 3.1.2 and Chrome 0.2.149.30 both use the
same user-agent string
http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=3281
Comment #1 by bksening:
Works fine for me on exactly the same platform (Windows: Safari 3.1.2 and
Chrome
0.2.149.30). I get separate user-agents with each browser; the Safari and
Chrome
user-agents are distinct.
I even checked the comment in the HTML source at the provided webpage.
Safari's
user-agent ends with "Version/3.1.2 Safari/525.21" and Chrome's user-agent
ends with
"Chrome/0.2.149.30 Safari/525.13", just as posted in the expected results.
This is
further confirmed by what is displayed on the webpage:
Safari: Web Soil Survey does not work correctly in Safari 525.21 on
Windows.
Chrome: Web Soil Survey does not work correctly in Safari 525.13 on
Windows.
This is the same no matter what order I load the pages or how I refresh
them. I
always get distinct user-agents.
@Poster, do you have a special sequence of steps that can result in the
same user-
agent?
What does it say for both browsers in http://whatsmyuseragent.com/
