When you say "Java for Chrome", I assume you mean Java6 Update10, which is  
the only
version of Java that works with Chrome.

Refer to:  https://katalisindonesia.com/wordpress/archives/35  regarding the
"internal error 2229", which is a Java install error, not a Chrome error.

Do you have any previous beta or Release Candidate versions of Java6  
Update10
installed?  Try uninstalling all previous Update10 betas and Release  
Candidates, then
download the final Update10 release from java.sun.com and then run the  
install.  See
if that solves the installation problem for you.
