Issue 3852: Incorrect scrolling when Windows is set to Page Up/Down per
scroll
http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=3852
New issue report by mkterra:
Chrome Version : 0.3.154.9
URLs (if applicable) :
Other browsers tested:
Add OK or FAIL after other browsers where you have tested this issue:
Safari 3:
Firefox 3: OK
IE 7: OK
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Go to Control Panel -> Printers and Other Hardware -> Mouse -> Wheel,
choose the option "One screen at a time", and click OK or Apply.
2. Open a long web page in Chrome and try scrolling up and down with the
mouse wheel or touchpad.
What is the expected result?
The page scrolls up and down a page at a time.
What happens instead?
The page scrolls one line at a time, and the directions are inverted (up is
down, down is up).
Please provide any additional information below. Attach a screenshot if
possible.
I am on Windows XP SP2 with:
- A plug-and-play USB mouse, listed as "HID-compliant mouse" in Device
Manager, with Microsoft driver version 5.1.2600.0.
- My touchpad, listed as "Alps Pointing-device for VAIO", with Alps driver
version 5.3.511.2.
Also, upon searching All Issues, I see that this is the same bug as Issue
290, which was erroneously marked a Duplicate of Issue 4:
http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=290
Issue 4 people can't scroll up at all. Issue 290 people CAN scroll up, but
their scroll directions are inverted. The latest Beta release finally
fixed Issue 4, but HASN'T fixed Issue 290.
Rather than starting over here, I propose reopening Issue 290 since it has
more info, confirming reports, and existing subscribers.
