Wait, I misunderstood this originally. I thought you told me that the
first-run UI
and the main browser UI locales differed.
This bug says that the install-time locale differs from the run-time
locale, which I
am not sure is even a bug.
NOTE: Shortcuts in the menu and on the desktop are always in the system
locale; that
is not a bug.
Venkat, you say don't change the language at google.com/chrome, but you
don't say
what language the page was in. Does it display a Hindi download page or an
English
download page?
