Issue 4253: composing a message on juno.com broken http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=4253
New issue report by drew.stonebraker: Chrome Version : 0.3.154.9 URLs (if applicable) : - www.juno.com - http://webmaila.juno.com/webmail/26?count=1226287610&rteSupported=0 (Chrome) - http://webmaila.juno.com/webmail/new/7?count=1226295514 (IE) - http://webmaila.juno.com/webmail/new/7?count=1226295129 (FF) Other browsers tested: Add OK or FAIL after other browsers where you have tested this issue: Safari 2: (when I tried to test on safari, safari stopped working after logging in to juno account) Firefox 2: OK (without full/advanced interface) IE 7: OK What steps will reproduce the problem? 1. navigate to www.juno.com 2. enter username, password, and click "sign in" 3. click "you have [no] new email" 4. Click on the "write" tab 5. begin typing anything in the "message body" field 6. change the insertion point to the middle of the text 7. begin typing/backspace/etc. What is the expected result? text insertion/deletion should behave conventionally What happens instead? -when typing, inserted characters overwrite following characters. This seems consistent when there is only one line of text, inconsistent if there are more, but it seems to happen more often on the last line of text. -sometimes the overwritten text will be re-inserted after a short period of time (seemingly especially after inserting punctuation). This could happen all at once, or one character at a time using the right arrow key. This is not consistent. -sometimes typed words... even without ever changing the insertion point, will disappear after jumping to the next line. -when using backspace, the deleted characters are often replaced with another character. The new character seems to usually be the character to the right of the insertion point before the backspace. Please provide any additional information below. Attach a screenshot if possible. I have tried toggling my "insert" key (in IE 7, but not FF2, this toggles insert/overwrite mode), but it seems to have no effect. I do not know if these are related (should I file a separate issue report(s) for them?): -Even though I followed the same path of navigation/links, the url in the address bar of Chrome for the page in question is different from IE7 and FF2. -IE7 gives an "advanced" interface surrounding the "email body" field, which neither FF2 nor Chrome has. I have looked in around (in settings, etc.) but cannot find anything user-based to which I can attribute the difference in interface between IE7 and FF2/Chrome.
