The thing I was going on was that it works in 154.9 with Gears 0.4.24.0
(ie, the
current Beta release), and doesn't work in recent builds (with different
versions of
Gears).
154.16 and 154.18 both had Gears 0.5.3 and the original IPC SyncChannel
fixes.
Only builds after 154.18 have r5238, that fixes a race condition in
SyncChannel.
Given that, it doesn't seem like Chrome (or Gears) is to blame...
I'd like to know why it doesn't work anymore, but I don't think it's a 1.0
blocker.
