For me, it looks like a duplicate of Issue 4219
For XP SP2 fully patched
gears.google.com gives: Gears details is blank, but is enabled in
about:plugins
But for XP SP2 _not fully patched_
gears.google.com gives: 0.5.4.0;official;opt;win32;npapi
