Comment #4 on issue 4116 by [EMAIL PROTECTED]: There should be a
checkbox to clear Gears data on the Clear browsing data dialog
http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=4116
The Gears settings dialog currently clears Gears data when you remove
origins. Not
sure if that is enough to satisfy this feature request.
I have a few concerns about cramming this into a single checkbox:
- Do we nuke everything Gears-related? What if you have offline Gmail and
offline
Zoho mail, and only wanted to nuke Zoho?
- What if the user had offline edits that haven't synced yet? It's not
necessarily
clear to the user what sort of information is lost when they "clear gears
data".*
* I talked to Aaron about this a bit, and he suggested we call it "local
storage"
(which would include html5 DB storage too, when we have it). A warning
might help
too.
