New issue 5437 by kachar136: When hitting backspace in the searchfield some  
letters are still there.

      Safari 3: OK
     Firefox 3: OK
          IE 7: OK

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Facebook search field
2. In the search field when hitting backspace some characters or pieces of
character are staying in the field. This is when the cursor is not at the
last character.
3. When clicked outside they are gone

What is the expected result?
To delete the characters

What happens instead?
Some characters or pieces of character are staying in the field.

possible.
