New issue 5476 by [email protected]: Text copying/pasting incorrectly in GMail when text zoom is on http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=5476 Chrome Version : 0.4.154.29 Other browsers tested: Add OK or FAIL after other browsers where you have tested this issue: Firefox 3: OK IE 6: OK What steps will reproduce the problem? 1. Start Chrome and log in to GMail. 2. Hit CTRL + to make the text one size bigger (and easier to read for old people like me :-) 3. Click Compose to start a new email. 4. Enter this text as the message body (four lines with one word each): The quick brown fox 5. Select the word "brown" and hit Ctrl C to copy it. 6. Place the cursor before the word "quick". 7. Hit Ctrl V to paste. What is the expected result? The word "brown" should be added in front of the word "quick", in the same font size and style. What happens instead? The word "brown" is pasted in a larger font than the rest of the text, see attached screenshot. Please provide any additional information below. Attach a screenshot if possible. 1. I don't know if this only happens in GMail or in all browser-based apps that support rich text editing. 2. I encounter this error almost every time I paste text before the end of an email. It is driving me crazy! 3. Selecting the text and clicking the "Remove Formatting" button sometimes returns the pasted text to normal formatting. Other times it has no effect or it changes all following text to a larger font size as well. 4. You can get into situations where it is impossible to return to normal formatting, at which point I copy all the text I have entered so far into a plain text editor and finish it there.
