IE7 fails, and gives "http://www."; + whatever you typed + ".se" (or ".com",  
depending
on your browser language version)

FF3 does all three by default and handles /foo by putting TLD before first  
/. Also
here Ctrl+Enter of gives .se. Now, some users may prefer to complete  
to .com without
using the US language/locale setting, and there this gets confusing.

Maybe a browser feature to silently add "www." when needed would take away  
enough of
your problem? (I never remember which sites require www. and which don't.)
