Comment #21 on issue 151 by nolongerunknown: Lack of back/foward cache
causes different history behavior
http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=151
So, I'm wrong about this being wrapped up. While double-checking my tests I
saw the
same original symptom: the failure of form fields to repopulate.
Starting from scratch I couldn't create a test case that triggered it so I
took my
implementation and stripped it down as much as I could to simplify it. The
browser
tests seem to indicate that the bug might appear in the Windows-only builds
of WebKit
from some time period.
OS X 10.5.6
Firefox 3.0.4: No issue.
Safari: 3.2.1: No issue.
Opera 9.23: No issue.
Opera 9.61: No issue.
Windows XP SP2 (Wintel Native)
Firefox 3.0.4: No issue.
Opera 9.52: No issue.
Safari 3.0.4: Exhibits this problem.
Safari 3.2.1: No issue.
Chrome 1.0.154.36: Exhibits this problem.
For bonus points I disabled Firefox's back/forward cache to make sure that
it was
functioning as I describe here, and it is.
