I find this issue consistent in the following steps
1. Open a page with gif image, i.e.
http://www.labnol.org/assets/images/WebsiteLoading_F08C/stop-animated-gif-movies.gif
2. Create a new tab
3. Switch to the new tab
4. Switch back to the page with gif
