Comment #15 on issue 1503 by CG.Consult: Chrome adds extra extension to filename on file download http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=1503
Issue: I am having the same problem with JPGs! They are only saved as "Files" and I have to open them in Paint, delete them, and re-save them as JPGs in Paint. Agree with spirit of these responses: It's not enough to put me off chrome but it is irritating. Enough reason to stop using this browser. All of the files that I download don't download as specific file types (ppt, doc, MP3, etc) Inefficient to switch from Gmail accessed in Chrome to log into a Firefox browser in order to simply download and open an attachment/file type. Unclear how Chrome can release from Beta with this level malfunctioning. Otherwise: excellent design and would prefer it to be my default browser.
