From my experience, i realized that high CPU usage on Flash sites are more prominent on Vista machines than XP machines. For eg. open nytimes.com with any Chrome version on Vista and you will see CPU usage 15-25 for corresponding tab and Shockwave Flash plugin. This problem doesn't occur on my XP machine.
