Comment #22 on issue 4219 by [email protected]: Gears not detected
http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=4219
If everyone who is having this problem would please do me a favor and
answer the following questions:
1. Go to about:version in the Omnibar and copy the version directly. For
example mine says 1.0.154.43 (Official Build 7746)
2. Go to about:plugins and scroll down to Gears and tell me what it says
for a version. For example
mine says Google Gears 0.5.8.0
3. While on about:plugins, does it say that application/x-googlegears is
enabled? Mine says Yes.
4. What operating system are you using. Mine is Vista with SP1.
5. How fast is your internet connection? At home I have DSL 3Mbps. You
may have a cable modem,
dialup, etc.
6. What sites are you having trouble using?
7. Is it reproduceable 100% of the time on any of those sites?
At this point it is hard to see what the common factor is among the
failures so I am on a bit of a
fishing trip. If we can find someone for whom it happens 100% of the time
there may be some things we
will ask you to do to gather some information about Chromium running on
your machine.
