In version 2.0.158.0, http://gears.google.com does not show the right side of the page. I get the welcome and the info on gears, but the box with the Install link and OS, or if installed, the version. Is completely missing. Second gears entirely does not work, anywhere. The gears configuration doesn't work either. This has been a problem for me since I first installed Chrome, back when 0.2 was released. In both Vista 64bit and now Windows 7 64bit. So while I am currently using it on an "unsupported" OS (which in my mind, should be, its the next OS from Windows, its highly stable, not much will change now, and lots of people have already migrated to it.), it does give me problems on Vista, which is one of your supported OSes.
