The repetition of extensions does not seem to occurring in 2.0.160.0
(Developer Build
8817). If it does, it would great if it is reopened as a different bug.
About the .reg file being renamed as .download, it is intentional. This
happens
because it is an executable extension, but the mime type is unknown, as a
result of
which Chromium cannot get the preferred extension from the mime type. For
these
cases, due to security reasons, we just rename the file to .download.
