For me it's a great feature. If I type single word (w/o spaces) in Firefox or IE - my provider shows custom error page with some ads and search results from their own stupid search system (results are much worse than those given by Google). I had to type second word to be able to search from address bar. Here in Google Chrome is work perfectly. Now I only find annoying to see message "Did you mean to go to http://abc/?".
