Looks like bug 1 and bug 2 have both been addressed:
1) Checkbox in Options > Minor Tweaks > Form autofill turns Autocomplete
feature on
and off.
2) Home and End keys move the caret in the text field, not the highlight in
the
autocomplete popup.
Verified in Chromium 2.0.162.0 (Developer Build 9503).
