I've been using Chrome for a few months perfectly. But starting early last week I started having the error described, that when I first load Chrome (www.google.com as start page) it usually tells me the webpage is unavailable with "Error 2 (net::ERR_FAILED): Unknown error." in the detail. Refreshing 3 or 4 times usually brings the page up finally. I've noticed that once I get a valid page, then I have no problems after that until I close Chrome and start over again. Any subsequent Chrome windows or tabs I open load fine as long as I've refreshed my way to a real page in the first one.
