Re-opening. It's not at all clear that this is a Purify bug. I think
you're right
that it's clear that it's not a bug in the code being blamed and Dean's
change should
be backed out (I disabled the test in Purify, so the bot shouldn't turn
red).
However, this bug happens reproducibly with the ExtensionsViewTest using
InProcessBrowserTest code, which makes me suspect that it's an issue with
how that
code does its initialization. Reassigning to mpcomplete.
