What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Install Ubuntu 8.10
2. Install chromium-browser
3. Launch chromium-browser
What is the expected result?
The main Window area of the browser shows any contents
What happens instead?
The navigation bar / tool bar displays correctly. The main window area
(the html widget) remains totally blank.
Please provide any additional information below. Attach a screenshot if
possible.
I have installed chromium-browser from the ppa.launchpad repository. There
have been some updates since, and I have tried chromium-browser each time,
and each time the result is the same: no contents whatsoever is displayed.
The navigation bar / tool bar seems to do *something*, that is, if you
type in a web address, the browser apparently tries to make a connection
and display contents, but the widget remains blank as it was.
I thought that it might be a compiz related problem, and tried it also in
the "failsafe xterm" session -- no effect.
There are plenty of gtk error messages, though. I am attaching the file
"chromium-error-messages.txt".
