Comment #6 on issue 9732 by [email protected]: Fallback to site-search
for URLs without Tab-to-search
http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=9732
The behavior I suggest is:
1 - type a
2 - autocompletes to amazon.com/go/checkout/blahblahblah
3 - hit tab
4 - if there's a keyword named "a", changes to that search
5 - if there's an amazon.com search engine, changes to search amazon.com
6 - otherwise changes to an amazon.com site search on the default search
engine.
Two notes:
Step (3) is slightly broader than the original bug.
Step (4) suggests handling Peter's edge case by giving precedence to
keywords in the
non-autocompleted part.
