Comment #26 on issue 5278 by [email protected]: Reopen closed tab in its original position http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=5278
Re #25: Those two pieces are both pretty uncontroversial. The pending question is what to do when the window a tab was in has since been closed. Does that come up a lot? I undo-closed-tab a lot, but I hardly ever have more than one window open, so I'm not a good example. Putting it at the end of the current window is definitely simpler (not that either way is impossible), and in some ways less jarring. I'll start with that today, and leave the question open for now. It shouldn't be hard to switch. Re #24: I'm actually one of the stronger supporters of "let's make it an option", but it's important to recognize that configurable options are not without cost. There's obviously development, testing, and maintenance cost, which seems small for any one option but adds up in the long run. But there's also a cost to the user, in scrolling through, understanding, and making decisions about lots of things that they don't really care about. So it's worth considering each possible option carefully, and choosing the ones that will make the most difference and be used by the most people. I don't think this is one of those cases. -- You received this message because you are listed in the owner or CC fields of this issue, or because you starred this issue.
