Comment #29 on issue 5278 by dhhwai: Reopen closed tab in its original position http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=5278
@Pam, I totally agree and understand that options entail costs for development, testing, and maintenance. However, strictly from a user's point of view, I expect the Chromium devs to incur this cost so that they can provide the functionality and easy of use of configurable options. However, it is wrong that options entail costs to users. If a user wishes to scroll through/understand/and making decisions about all the options, that's his chosen time and effort spent, which is fine. If he wants to come back and finish reviewing options later, he can always close the options and return later, which is fine. If there are options he doesn't care about, he can skip them, which is fine. If he is a user that doesn't care about any options at all, he would not be viewing options anyway, which is fine. Again in summary, options do not entail costs to users, but rather provide immediate configurable changes if and when such changes are desired. Users may or may not know at the beginning if they want to make any options changes. They may want a change after being informed of other possibilities, through extended use, etc. But the ability to effect such a change must be available through options. One of the worst aspects of Chrome is its lack of options/configurability in providing preference choices to users. -- You received this message because you are listed in the owner or CC fields of this issue, or because you starred this issue.
