What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. On MacOSX Chromium, open any page with an input box (eg  
http://www.google.com)
2. try inputing a circumflex or diaeresis-bearing character, like ê or ë  
(using ^ or ¨ key followed
by appropriate letter)


What is the expected result?
the input box contains a letter bearing the desired diacritic, eg â or ä

What happens instead?
the input box contains a plain letter, eg a


Please provide any additional information below. Attach a screenshot if
possible.
diacritic-bearing letters that are assigned a dedicated key are ok (eg é,  
è, à on a french
keyboard). Only composed letters seem to be affected (when you need to  
input ^, ¨, or ` then a
letter that should bear that diacritic)
