What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Start with a webpage that includes a <select> element with any option
having the attribute "selected" or "selected='selected'"
2. Use javascript to set the <select> element to another value
What is the expected result?
The selected <option> should change.
What happens instead?
The selected <option> does not change.
Please provide any additional information below. Attach a screenshot if
possible.
If the user selects *another* option *before* running the javascript, the
<option> *does* change.
