Definitely reproducible, especially on the games.tiscali site.
opening http://games.tiscali.cz/favicon.ico in Chrome gets a 32x32 icon
that looks like
it has grey in it. Opening it in Firefox gets a 16x16 icon that has more
color.
Spoofing the user-agent doesn't seem to help.
This is likely a Browser UI issue, rather than a compat issue.
