I love tab scrolling via mouse wheel. It's very quick & easy, and I feel limited when I can't do it. :-/ If a user is unfamiliar with it and triggers it accidentally, chances are they will simply have discovered another way to switch tabs. If they're "confused" they can simply switch back to the tab they want by the means they're familiar with.
