Fontconfig memory leaks

I tried some experiments with destroying the config struct etc. which in
theory makes
sense, but doesn't fix the leak. :-/
I highly suspect some issue inside of fontconfig. How can I build
test_shell against
a custom build of fontconfig for more experiments?
