New issue 15896 by lenvik: Tab to search keyword overtaken by different
domain name autocomplete
http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=15896
Chrome Version : 3.0.190.4
URLs (if applicable) :
Other browsers tested:
Add OK or FAIL after other browsers where you have tested this issue:
Safari 4:
Firefox 3.x:
IE 7:
IE 8:
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. I have a search engine set to use the keyword "wh"
2. To use this keyword I would usually type wh, hit tab then type my search
term.
3. Recently a domain starting wh (not the site the keyword refers to) has
become higher on the omnibox list and so typing wh and pressing tab
autocompletes to whirlpool.net.au (rather than my wowhead.com search)
What is the expected result?
I would be prompted to enter my search term
What happens instead?
whirlpool.net.au autocompletes upon hitting tab so my tab-to-search does
not work without deleting the autocompleted domain name
Please provide any additional information below. Attach a screenshot if
possible.
Should search keywords have a higher position than domain names? I
definitely use my keyword search more than i browse to whirlpool.net.au.
