Comment #43 on issue 10953 by mhenriday: IME support http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=10953
On a 64-bit Jaunty system running Chrome for Linux v 3.0.192.0,, I am unable to use SCIM to compose a Gmail message in a CJK language ; while I can click the SCIM icon and select a language, say, simplified Chinese, from the drop-down menu that then opens, the selection doesn't «stick» and the icon reverts back to the Latin letter default, and the text I try to enter into the Gmail compose window is displayed in Latin characters. To input Chinese text, I'm forced to open a text editor like the Gnome text editor, write my Chinese text there, and then copy it into my Gmail compose window. This is not the case running (64-bit) Firefox builds on the same system - there I can use SCIM to enter and edit East Asian languages directly in the Gmail compose window....
