axel: thanks a lot for the bug report. Entering the proxy manually won't
help
because that only affects HTTP/HTTPS right now.
It is a known bug that Chrome ignores proxy settings for FTP and will
always try to
connect directly. This would explain the problem you reported.
I propose that we only fix this bug for the new FTP implementation
(--new-ftp), which
has improved (on the Dev channel) since you filed this bug report.
