For extra interest, note that the control really is a multiline-box. As you  
move around something like the above
example, you can see the baseline of the text change. Moreover, when you  
hold down the shift key to select, you
can use the up/down arrow keys to move up and down. It'd be better if one  
could force the control to only ever
display a single line (in addition to processing out CR/LFs in pastes;  
actually I wonder where and how else
characters could be cleverly inserted, and if there are any other  
characters which would split the line).
